Sport England Funding

As a social enterprise we rely on our members fees to cover our costs. Since COVID19 slowly started to invade our lives memberships started to reduce from the back end of February to be honest up to the point where we were forced to close on March 18th.

Since then our income has almost disapeared completely – and that is scary, but understandable!

We have had all our cash/card payments cease, this accounted for around 70% of our income, the other major income was from our Direct Debit customers. Now we are so humbled, and delighted that around a quarter of these have either continued with their fees or reduced them but stayed members. That really does help!

As we are in a ‘serviced facility’ we pay a lease to the council, however that also means we are not business rate payers so could apply for the rates grant.

Instead I have spent the last 6 weeks writing funding bids to try and help cover our bills, we have managed to pause some of these but not all!

Sport England FundingI am delighted to say that the ‘Sport England Emergency Fund‘ have awarded us a small grant to help cover some of these bills.

This should keep us solvent through until the end of May.

If anyone is in a position to help ensure we can reopen – please make whatever small donation you can to ‘SAVE YOUR GYM ON LOCAL GIVING
